Sports Club for Disabled Athletes “IRODIKOS”
In 2005 with initiative from decorated athletes-members of Perpato, Sports Club "IRODIKOS" was founded. The main goal is to cultivate all of the Paralympic sport sο that disabled people can partake in them. "IRODIKOS" now consists of some of the best athletes from all over Greece in more than 6 Paralympic sports. Our goals are the development of sports for people with disability,the creation of accessible athletic facilities,the development and cooperation with similar associations either domestically or abroad and lay emphasis on the importance of exercise and physical activity for people with disabilities in order to achieve both physical and mental health.
WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL
Irodikos has organized a couple of international tournaments called Thrace Wheelchair Basketball and the participants were national squads.Greek National Squad has done its summer training in Irodikos'facilities a couple of times and also a few members of Irodikos Wheelchair Basketball Club are players of Greece's National Team. Irodikos Wheelchair Baskeball Club has been participating in the North Division for last 4 years and has made it to the league's playoffs a few times,when the team is made of local players only issues through Non-Formal Education..

WHEELCHAIR RUGBY
Irodikos is currently the only sports club for disabled athletes that has a wheelchair rugby team, but our hope is that through the cultivation of the sport more athletes and teams will be motivated to participate.
In additional, the sports that the athletes of the association participate are paracycling,parashooting,paraswimming,parasailing and monoski.
Our team
Alexandros-Helmut Taxildaris- President of Association Perpato, Physiatrist, Paralympic
Alexander Helmut Taxildaris is a silver Paralympian in swimming at the Athens Paralympic Games in 2004 and with 2 other distinctions. Αt the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008 he won 4th place, and in London 2012 he won 6th place where he stopped competing and focused on the organization and development of the PERPATO Association, where as a physiatrist he organizes rehabilitation and training programs of independent living aimed at people with mobility impairments. In 2010 he was elected first in votes as a Municipal Councilor of Komotini. In addition, he is the co-founder of the Sports Club for disabled athletes "IRODIKOS". Since November 2021 he has been a member of the Greek Paralympic Committee as Public Relations Officer and served as head of the Greek mission in Beijing in 2022.
Kimon Lexoudis- President of Irodikos
Kimonas Lechoudis is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science with a master's degree in Physical Education in exercise and quality of life – maximizing athletic performance or performance. He was a key basketball player of the municipality of Komotini from 1994 to 2016. From 2018 to 2021 he was the coach and Player of the wheelchair basketball team of the sports club for disabled athletes IRODIKOS. As of 2021, he is the team's main player. From 2022 he is the president of IRODIKOS. In addition, from 2019 to 2020 he was deputy mayor of Tourism and employment, and from 2021 until today Deputy Mayor of coordination and everyday life Administration.
Stella Argiropoulou- Project manager and HR director
Stella is a highly
skilled member of the team with many successful grant agreements. She is a graduate of the Department of
economics of the University of Macedonia and attends the postgraduate program
in Health Care Management at the Greek Open University. She has been a
volunteer at the PERPATO Association and IRODIKOS since their foundation. Since
2012 she has been working at the Association PERPATO as Project Manager &
HR DIRECTOR. She was a member of the board of Directors of IRODIKOS for 4
years and has now taken over the financial management of the sports club.
Athanasia Tsiompanoudi- Manager of Irodikos
Athanasia is a manager
of Irodikos and assistant manager of Perpato. She is graduated Social
Administration in Democritus University of Thrace and managed the bureaucracy part
of the association and she has the direct communication with athletes. Also,
she helps the program development and aims to provide assistance in dealing
with social problems such as mobility disability.
Assunta Petridou- Manager of accommodation and other project
Assunta Petridou has
graduated tourism business, she deals with the accommodation of beneficiaries
and guests and helps the project which take place in the association . She
makes training with the team of wheelchair baskeball of Irodikos because of her
love for athleticism and she offers with her knowledge more and more to the
better management of the association.
